The first artcar I made was pretty much a figure-it-out-as-you-go endeavor. I used acrylic paint which faded quickly and needed to be touched up every few months. The toys on the roof often faded as well or were stolen/vandalized and needed to be replaced frequently. Toward the end of its life, Toy Car was in rough shape. It had bumpers held with duct tape and no hubcaps (I had not driven a car on a regular basis until I was 24 so I more or less honed my less than stellar parking skills on this car and it showed). There was no heat or air conditioning. I finally had to concede that it was time to move on. I look back on my first artcar as tremendous fun and a constantly evolving project that I loved.
